Mahindra Thar OG Price And Variants

The Thar OG is available in three variants, with prices ranging from ₹10.32 lakh to ₹18.99 lakh. The introductory prices are applicable for deliveries made until November 30, 2026.

Variant

Starting Price

AXT

₹10.32 lakh

LXT

ZXT

The top-spec ZXT variant is available with all three engine options, while the base AXT is offered only with the 1.5-litre diesel engine and manual gearbox.

New Thar OG Gets Updated Design

The Mahindra Thar OG retains its familiar boxy silhouette but receives several exterior changes. It gets a new grille, LED headlamps with C-shaped daytime running lights, LED fog lamps and redesigned front and rear bumpers.

The SUV also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels, slimmer LED taillamps and updated silver and black bumper elements. The spare wheel mounted on the tailgate has also been redesigned to complement the new alloy wheels.

Mahindra has introduced two new exterior colours, Artemis Silver and Jeans Blue, alongside the existing colour options.

Thar OG Gets New Cabin Features

The cabin of the Thar OG retains the upright dashboard and rugged design of the outgoing model but gains new equipment and trim updates. It gets Truffle Brown leatherette upholstery and a soft second-row armrest with integrated cupholders.

Depending on the variant, the SUV gets a 26.03cm HD touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs and a colour MID.

Higher variants also get a wireless charger, leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and rear-view camera.

More Safety Features Added

The Thar OG receives several safety upgrades. It gets six airbags, including four HPTS airbags for front and rear occupants, along with front parking sensors and disc brakes on all four wheels.

Other safety and assistance features include ESP with rollover mitigation, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring and hill-hold and hill-descent functions.

Mahindra Thar OG Gets More Powerful Engines

The 2026 Thar OG continues with a 1.5-litre diesel, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine.

The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine now produces 162PS and 330Nm, while the 2.2-litre diesel generates 152PS and 330Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel produces 119PS and 300Nm. The petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are available with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes, while the 1.5-litre diesel gets a 6-speed manual.

The 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines can be paired with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, depending on the variant. The 1.5-litre diesel is available with rear-wheel drive.

New Suspension And Off-Road Hardware

One of the major changes to the Thar OG is underneath the body. The SUV is based on Mahindra’s M_Glyde 4G platform and gets a new rear PENTALINK suspension with Watts Link.

It also features DAVINCI frequency-dependent damping and electric power steering, aimed at improving ride comfort and low-speed manoeuvrability.

For off-road driving, the Thar OG gets an electronic locking differential and dedicated Mud, Sand and Snow terrain modes on applicable variants. Brake-locking differential, automatic hub locks and tow-hitch protection are also available.
